A royal affair

With the whole western hemisphere caught up in royal wedding fever, the chances of any of us attending that wedding are pretty slim. However, like most of you, we have a few weddings of our own to attend this spring! It can sometimes be difficult to figure out what is appropriate to wear to such occasions. Our only real rule is don't wear white. Everything else can be done (even black!) and with our help, you will be the second best dressed woman at the wedding, after the bride of course.

There were so many dresses in store, it was tough to pick our favourites! We chose our top picks to share with you, and there are plenty more in store perfect for weddings of all occasions!

Rachel's picks

Fever Sea Mist dress $152
SQ coral wood clutch $40
Psalms leaf necklace $48

This asymmetrical dress from Fever London is perfect for a daytime wedding, with it's effortless cut and beautiful drape of the fabric. Floral prints are perfect for a daytime wedding, and the toga feel of this dress also makes it a no brainer for a destination wedding. We like that it is lightweight and summery, but still long enough to remain modest and keep the look classic. Pair it with a strappy sandal and a bright clutch and you will be turning heads under the sun!

Girl Friday Oluk dress in teal $130
SOOS multichain necklace $69

The Oluk dress is perfect for a more formal wedding with its classic structure and satin finish. It has a polished edge to it, without being too stuffy. Accessorized with a chunky necklace and some nude peep-toe pumps, and all the men will be hoping it's you that catches the bouquet.

Tessa's picksDEPT Navy floral print dress $85
SOOS silver love necklace $48
SQ Coral round clutch $25

Sometimes a well cut dress is all you need. It flatters the body, and is uber feminine. It's great for a warm summertime event, and nothing goes together better than navy, coral and white for spring!

Girl Friday Tessa dress navy paisley $130
CPAK bangle $25
HOBO clutch $135

The Tessa dress is perfect for a garden wedding. It is modest and classic, but the halter still shows off the back for a little skin. The paisley print is perfect to stand out from the crowd without overshadowing the bride.

Kelsey's picksFever London Ivy dress $164

This dress is what I imagine Betty Draper would wear to a wedding. The cut is perfect for someone who wants to add volume to the bustline (me!), and the chiffon hangs off the body perfectly. The teal green is to die for, and the best part is you can eat and dance in this dress and be completely comfortable!

The Lily dress is so elegant and simple. It seems perfect for an outdoor wedding, paired with a classic white sunhat. Plus, prints are always more forgiving than a solid colour, and a print always hides any cake you may have dropped on your dress!
