Girl Friday at the Opera!

We're so excited to be providing costume for the Opera!

Founded in the spring of 2010, Wish Opera is a young company with a mature vision. By incorporating elements of contemporary fashion and design, the company presents opera that is vibrant, current, and relevant in the present day, while maintaining the integrity and intentions of the original work. In choosing repertoire, Wish Opera seeks to address issues which stimulate and challenge today’s audiences, and lead to contemplative introspection. With a mandate to support Canadian artists, and to encourage and nurture emerging talent, the company is confident in the vast natural resources available to fulfill this dynamic and compelling vision.

Set in the Canadian Rockies, Rose Marie La Flemme, a French Canadian girl, loves miner Jim Kenyon - Mounties, music and mayhem ensue!

The dish on Dish: Spring edition!

It actually is here. It seemed like it might not come, but spring has arrived. Now's the time of the year where our legs are set free! Pull your bicycle out of storage, its shorts time! This year like always, Dish does not disappoint when it comes to summer denim! They have a great selection of shorts, skirts, capris, and some lightweight jeans for the hotter days! And don't forget - in honour of denim for spring, we are offering 15 % off dish jeans on Wednesday April 20th, from 5-8pm!

Hanna shorts - fremont $72
These are the shorts for those who want to show of their gorgeous legs! Short and cute, they are perfect for those 30+ degrees summer days that we all know are coming! All that hard work in spin class will pay off!

Andi shorts - Hudson $74
The Andi is a relaxed boyfriend cut short. They are a mid-thigh length, for those who prefer to keep a bit to the imagination. Pair with a loose t-shirt, or linen blouse and transplant yourself to California without leaving the city.

Dakota short - barlow $76
The Dakota is my favourite short of the season. They are short enough to set your legs free, but keep a great comfort level. The fabric is a lightweight dark denim, which will instantly dress up any summer outfit!

The Misty capri is a regular rise, straight leg capri. It cut flatters most bodies, and the best part is you can wear them as ankle pants, or cuff them for capris!

Bethany skirt - rinse $78
The Bethany is a great take on the classic pencil skirt. It hugs your curves for a super feminine shape, but gives a more relaxed, cool feel with its dark denim.

Stevie crop - Genoa $82
The Stevie is the boyfriend jean turned crop. With its oversized pockets and waistband, it gives a super laid back vibe with the edge of cool. Perfect with a pair of rocketdog slip ons!

The Paris bermuda is a slim fitting bermuda short. Wear them long or cuff them, that choice is up to you!

This is a staff-favourite at Girl Friday and we're super-excited to have it in stock now! Made from 100% cotton, the dress is fully-lined with 100% cotton as well to keep it breathable for those hot Summer days (I promise, they're coming!).
